Add a FAQ Section

How to add and customize an accordion-style FAQ section with Markdown answers and built-in SEO schema markup.

What is the FAQ section?

The FAQ section displays your frequently asked questions in an accordion-style layout. Questions appear as clickable rows that expand to reveal the answer. On tablet and desktop, the section title appears on the left with the accordion items on the right. On mobile, it stacks into a single column.

How do I add a FAQ section?

  1. Go to app.wander.com → Website (left menu) → Pages.

  2. Select the page you want to edit.

  3. Click the + Section button and select FAQs under the Basics group.

  4. Click the section in the page preview to begin adding your questions.

What can I customize?

  • Title: The main section heading displayed alongside the accordion (e.g., "Guest Policies" or "Frequently Asked Questions").

  • FAQ Items: Each item contains a Question and an Answer. Add as many items as you need.

  • Reorder: Drag and drop items to rearrange the order they appear.

Note: Only one FAQ item can be open at a time. Clicking a new question automatically closes the previously open one.

Note: If a question field is left blank, that item is automatically hidden from your live page. If all items are blank, the entire FAQ section will not render.

What formatting is supported in answers?

Answers support Markdown formatting, which lets you add:

  • Bold text using **bold**

  • Italic text using *italic*

  • Links using [link text](url)

  • Bulleted lists using - item

  • Numbered lists using 1. item

  • Headings, blockquotes, and other standard Markdown

Note: Use bold text and bulleted lists in your answers to make them easy to scan.

How does the FAQ section help my SEO?

The FAQ section automatically generates JSON-LD structured data (FAQPage schema) that search engines like Google can read. This can cause your questions and answers to appear directly in Google search results as rich snippets, increasing your visibility and click-through rate. No additional configuration is needed.

Tips

  • Group by topic: Create multiple FAQ sections on the same page with different titles (e.g., "Booking Policies," "Property Amenities," "Check-In Information") to keep content organized.

  • Keep answers concise: Short, scannable answers perform better than long paragraphs. Use bullets and bold text to highlight key points.

  • Use a dedicated FAQ page: Build a standalone page at /faq to give guests a central place to find answers.
