Who collects taxes?
WanderOS collects taxes at checkout based on the tax rates configured in your PMS.
Who remits taxes?
You do. As the Merchant of Record, you are legally responsible for filing and remitting taxes to the appropriate state and local authorities. WanderOS does not file or remit on your behalf.
What appears in my payout?
The full tax amount collected at checkout is paid into your account along with the booking revenue. Treat collected tax as restricted funds, not revenue.
How do I see what was collected?
You can view collected taxes in two places:
Where | What you'll see |
Per reservation | Go to Reservations, search for the reservation or customer, then select the reservation to see the per-booking tax breakdown. |
Aggregate | Open the Earnings page for revenue and tax totals over a date range. |
Best Practices
Talk to a tax professional. Short-term rental tax obligations vary by state, county, city, and sometimes HOA. Get local guidance.
