Quick answer
You import your past guests into WanderOS by uploading a Comma-Separated Values (CSV) file with three columns — First Name, Last Name, and Email — from the Guests tab in app.wander.com. Once imported, your past guests appear in the Guests directory and are eligible for automated email campaigns like Stay Again. This applies to all WanderOS hosts and property managers, especially those migrating from another platform.
For an overview of the Guests tab itself, see How does the Guests tab in my WanderOS dashboard work? (linked once published).
Before you start
Have the following ready before you begin.
A CSV file with three columns: First Name, Last Name, Email.
Cleaned email addresses. Email is the unique identifier — duplicates and typos will create duplicate or unreachable profiles.
Permission to email these contacts. Only import guests who have a prior relationship with you and a reasonable expectation of receiving email from your business.
How do I prepare my CSV?
You prepare your CSV by exporting your past guests from your previous platform (or your existing records) into a three-column file.
Export or build a spreadsheet with these exact columns:
Column | Required | Description |
First Name | Yes | Guest's first name. |
Last Name | Yes | Guest's last name. |
Yes | Guest's email address. Used as the unique identifier. |
Remove rows with missing emails or obvious typos.
Save the file as CSV (comma-separated values), not XLSX.
How do I upload the CSV?
You upload the CSV from the Guests tab in WanderOS.
Log in to
app.wander.com.In the left sidebar, click Guests.
Click Import.
Upload your CSV file.
Review the column mapping to confirm WanderOS matched your CSV columns to First Name, Last Name, and Email correctly.
Click Add to import.
Your past guests now appear in the Guests directory and are eligible for marketing campaigns.
What happens to existing guests with the same email?
Existing guests are matched on email address and are not duplicated. If a guest in your CSV has the same email as a guest already in WanderOS — for example, someone who already booked or signed up on your site — the import will not create a second profile for them.
Troubleshooting
If the import does not work as expected, check the most common causes below.
Upload fails or rows are skipped: Confirm the file is saved as CSV (not XLSX) and that every row has a value in First Name, Last Name, and Email.
Column mapping looks wrong: Re-open your CSV, rename the headers to First Name, Last Name, Email exactly, save, and re-upload.
Imported guests are not receiving campaign emails: Confirm the relevant campaign (for example, Stay Again) is turned on. See How do I drive direct bookings with automated email campaigns in WanderOS?.
