New property launches ("5 new properties in the portfolio!")
Seasonal offers and promotions
Holiday booking deadlines
Important policy notices (e.g. updated cancellation windows)
Service notices (e.g. live chat hours, phone support hours)
Note: Keep messages short. The bar is one line of text on most screen sizes. Long messages truncate or wrap awkwardly on mobile.
Where do I find the announcement bar settings?
The announcement bar is a site-level setting, not a page section.
Go to app.wander.com.
Open Website in the left sidebar.
Click Announcement bar.
How do I create or edit the announcement bar?
You configure the bar in three steps from the announcement bar settings page.
Toggle Enable bar on. Additional fields appear below.
In the Body field, type your announcement message (e.g. "Book by Dec 1 for free welcome amenity").
Under Show bar on, choose either Homepage or Property page.
Click Save.
The bar is published immediately on the chosen pages. To make changes later, return to the same screen, edit the fields, and click Save again.
Tip: Preview your live site after saving to confirm the message reads well above the navigation. Long messages can wrap to a second line on mobile, so test on phone width too.
How do I turn the announcement bar off?
You turn the bar off without deleting your message by toggling Enable bar off and clicking Save. The configured body and page target are preserved, so you can re-enable the same bar later (for example, for recurring seasonal promotions).
Where does the bar appear on the live site?
The announcement bar renders as a full-width strip at the very top of every page in the group you selected:
Homepage — shows on your site's homepage only.
Property page — shows on every individual property detail page.
The bar sits directly above the main navigation. On scroll, the navigation stays sticky and respects the bar's height so nothing is hidden behind it.
Troubleshooting
If your announcement bar does not look right, check the most common causes below.
Bar is not showing on the live site: Confirm Enable bar is toggled on and that you clicked Save. Then confirm you are looking at a page in the correct group (homepage vs property page).
Bar is showing on the wrong pages: Switch the Show bar on option (Homepage or Property page) and click Save.
A URL in my message is not clickable: The body is plain text only. The bar does not support links today. Use a hero section or a page section to place a clickable CTA instead.
Body text is cut off on mobile: The bar holds one line on most screens. Shorten the message or split a long sentence into a tighter call to action.
My old message reappeared: If you toggled the bar off and back on, the previous body and page target are restored. Edit the body before saving if you want a new message.
