Quick answer
You can take your WanderOS site down or fully close your account on your own from app.wander.com as long as you have admin access. There are two paths:
Take the site down — unpublish your custom domain and confirm your Billing tab so you are not charged. This is enough to stop guests from booking.
Fully close the account — do the steps above, then disconnect your Property Management System (PMS), and as the last step delete your organization.
This applies to all WanderOS hosts and Property Managers (PMs) with admin access. Every step below is self-serve and does not require Wander support.
Important: Delete the organization last. Once the organization is deleted you lose access to Settings, Billing, the Listings tab, and your PMS Sync tab in WanderOS, so any earlier steps can no longer be undone from the dashboard.
Before you start
Have the following ready before you begin.
A WanderOS login with admin access. Standard team-member roles cannot make these changes.
A decision on which path you want: take the site down (reversible) or fully close the account (permanent).
Anything you want to keep saved off-platform (for example, downloaded invoices from the Billing tab).
How do I take my WanderOS site down? (Minimum steps)
You take your site down by unpublishing your custom domain and confirming your Billing tab so no charges continue.
Unpublish your custom domain. This stops guests from reaching your direct booking site at your custom URL. Follow the steps in How do I disconnect my custom domain from my WanderOS site?
Open the Billing tab and confirm your charges. Click your organization avatar in the top left, select Settings, and open the Billing tab. Check the Plan section to see whether you are on a paid plan. If your account has no active paid plan, no further billing action is needed. If you are on a paid plan and you do not want to be charged again, cancel from the Plan section. See What can I do on the Billing tab in WanderOS Settings? for what each section shows.
Once your domain is unpublished, no new bookings can come in through your direct booking site.
Note: These two steps alone are usually enough. You do not have to disconnect your PMS or delete your organization to stop the site from being bookable.
How do I fully close my WanderOS account?
If you want to remove everything — site, PMS connection, and organization — do the steps above first, then continue with the steps below in order.
Unpublish your custom domain (see the section above).
Confirm your Billing tab (see the section above).
Disconnect your PMS. Click your organization avatar in the top left, select Settings, and open the PMS Sync tab. Click Disconnect from PMS. See How does the PMS Sync tab work in WanderOS Settings?
Delete your organization. This is the last step. Click your organization avatar in the top left, select Settings, open the Organization tab, scroll to the Danger Zone, and click Delete organization. See How do I rename or delete my organization in WanderOS Settings?
Warning: Deleting your organization is permanent and is the only step in this list that you cannot undo from the dashboard. Save any invoices, reservation data, or other records you want to keep before this step.
Should I disconnect my PMS if I am only taking the site down?
You do not need to. Once your custom domain is unpublished, no bookings can come in through WanderOS, so leaving your PMS connected does not cause any issues.
Reasons to leave your PMS connected:
No bookings can be created because the site is not reachable, so PMS data flowing in is harmless.
Coming back is faster. If you decide to relaunch later, your inventory is already synced and ready.
One less thing to redo. Reconnecting and re-importing later takes more time than leaving the connection in place.
Disconnect your PMS only if you are continuing on to fully delete the organization, or if your PMS billing depends on the connection being closed on the WanderOS side.
When should I take down vs fully close?
Use the table below to choose the right path.
Situation | Use |
You are pausing for a season and may relaunch later | Take the site down only |
You are switching to a different platform but might evaluate WanderOS again | Take the site down only |
You have been acquired or your portfolio has fully changed and you will not return | Fully close the account |
You no longer want any of your data in WanderOS | Fully close the account |
Troubleshooting
If something does not work, check the most common causes below.
Guests can still reach my site after unpublishing the domain: Custom domain changes can take time to propagate through DNS. Wait the time noted in the disconnect article and check again. Clear your browser cache before re-testing.
You do not see a Cancel plan option in Billing: Your account does not have an active paid plan to cancel, so there is nothing to do in this step.
You do not see Disconnect from PMS: Your PMS is already not connected. Skip this step.
You do not see a Delete organization button: Your account does not have admin access. Ask the WanderOS admin on your account to perform the delete.
You deleted the organization by mistake: Contact Wander support immediately. Recovery is not guaranteed once the deletion has been processed.
You do not see Settings at all: Confirm you are clicking the organization avatar in the top left, not the Property Settings inside an individual listing.
